After a week of chest infections all round and the noise and dust of renovations, we're off to the snow.. I haven't experienced snow since I was 3 years old, my children have never seen it and my husband only a little in England, so we're all very excited!
This is what all the dust and noise is about.. getting rid of these tiles and continuing the floorboards on to the front door and into what will become the study/sitting room..
You can see why..
We had to stop at this line during the major renovations because up these steps is where we lived for 4 months while 3/4 of our house was demolished and rebuilt! We bought all the flooring required for stage 1 & 2 together - to ensure a colour match. It's been sitting in our garage for months..
The next stage will be to square up these arches, remove the ceiling roses (they just don't suit our 13 year old, newly renovated home!)..
..and divide this room in two, creating a study and a sitting room/home gym/yet to be negotiated room..the paint colours will have to change too!
I had planned to post a few more pics of the kitchen but it is slowly disappearing under a dust cloud..so we'll save that for next week. I'll leave you with a few images that have inspired me this week..Have a lovely few days, I'm looking forward to catching up with all of you when we get back xx

Enjoy the snow. Being from Canada, it always sounds funny to me that some people have never seen snow. Snow is loads of fun - if only it had the good grace to go away shortly after it arrives. It really does wear out its welcome here.
Have fun!
Nothing prepares you for remodeling a house. We have been doing just that for about three years. Finally done. Having workers in and out, dust and such, isn't fun. But when it's over: so worth it! Now we've pretty much got the outdoors finished too. Whew!

Have fun in the snow....I hope the dust settles for when you get back.
I hope you have an absolutely amazing time away in the snow... it will be such an exciting experience for you all to have as a family! My girls can't wait to see the snow either... Your floorboards are lovely, I bet you can't wait to have them all laid and the dust gone!

Have a wonderful time at the snow! You home is looking lovely and I look forward to seeing more of it. Enjoy and stay warm! ;-)
Enjoy the snow Rachael. I love the courtyard pic you've posted. And forget about the dust for a while :)
Have a lovely family time in the snow!
ps you can always send your ceiling roses down here. LOL, only kidding but isn't it funny how one persons trash is another's treasure!
What snow...where?
So smart to be gone during the mess of construction...and when you return, it will be so exciting to see the changes that were made during your absence.
Have a lovely time...
Jessica~
Yep, those tiles are crying out to be replaced Rachael! Looks like you've chosen the right time to head off to the snow - have a fabulous time.
Millie ^_^
Have fun in the snow - hope there is lots (snow that is). Good to get out of your dusty environment and re-charge your batteries. x
