Neutrals

Upon entering the 6th week of living in two rooms with little ones, we're all feeling the strain of renovating. There's nothing like neutral themes to bring back calm...my favourites at the moment are grey and taupe.

The Bath

After almost giving up on finding the perfect bath, along came Victoria & Albert. Volcanic limestone, no less...the same price as many acrylics. Can't wait to hop in, nor can the toddlers - I think the novelty of showers is wearing off..

What was our kitchen, dining, family room.
This was the start of us living in two rooms.

Renovating

Before & current western side

Making way for a new (bigger) bathroom & (bigger) laundry & mud room

Extending

Before & current rear.
Coming out 6 metres from the back of the original house.

Lots of lovely glass

Replacing inward opening doors and awning windows (!) with large sliders and fixed glass windows.

Demolition

June 01 2009

Making way for our new deck, the side extension (making the family room 1700mm wider) and digging up the back yard for our new extension (bedroom, ensuite & living).

AFTER

The room 'dining' is going to be a library/sitting room and the kitchen plan is not quite right - we have an island bench rather than the u-shape shown..
